I love getting things for my grandchildren as it’s wonderful to see their little faces light up when you give them a new toy.  I was therefore delighted to be offered a Big Sister Tiara Sparkles doll and a Baby Sister Teenie Tiara doll to review from the Kindi Kids Scented Sisters range of dolls. There are other dolls available in the range. They arrived quickly in very good condition and I didn’t consider there to be excessive packaging.  The dolls were easy to remove from the packaging. Both dolls have beautiful blond hair with streaks of pink. The colour of Teenie Tiara’s bib matches that of Tiara Sparkle’s dress.

Both my grandson and granddaughter liked these dolls. My grandson was more ‘taken’ with it.  My granddaughter liked the bright colours of both dolls and their bright eyes.  The dolls have a big head and small body. The head and the arms of the dolls are moveable.  The dolls wobble/bobble.  My granddaughter loves starring at the dolls.  My grandson prefers the baby sister doll and keeps taking the nappy, bib and dummy off… but not putting them back on.

The big sister has shoes, a tiara and a beautiful dress which can be removed.  I like that other outfits can be purchased for this doll.  That said, for the price of the dolls I would expect another outfit to be included.  My granddaughter prefers playing with the doll when she is not wearing her tiara.

The big sister doll has beautiful hair which is in ringlets.   The hair is great because it doesn’t seem to get messy which is amazing considering the fact that a lot of the time my granddaughter has sticky hands.

The dolls are both well made and I think will stand up to some tough play from my grandchildren.    The only two negatives I could think of were that the Big Sister doll just comes with the one outfit and the fact that I didn’t think the dolls were very well scented, although I recognise that someone else could think that they are.

I think that these dolls could be great for role-play, in particular allowing children to learn about nurture and relationships between siblings.  My partner thinks that they would be great for children of expectant parents.  They could have their own baby sister doll before their real big sister or brother comes along.  She also thinks that they could be a good tool to help children learn about feelings and how to express them.

I think that these dolls will be on a few children’s Christmas Lists this year including that of my grandson.  I also think that these dolls would potentially make a lovely birthday or ‘just because’ gift for a child.
