As a gin lover, when I was asked to review a gin tasting set my immediate response was yes please and I definitely wasn’t disappointed.  Coincidentally the set arrived on my birthday so was a lovely “additional gift”. I was unsure what it was at first when it was dropped off by a courier as the box it came in was huge. I was just expecting a small set in a box but this arrived in a huge hamper. It looked amazing and expensive. The hamper looked hand packed with a lot of thought put into the presentation rather than mass produced. It also came with a personalised note which was a nice touch. It was so nice I almost wanted to put it on display rather than open it!

On opening the hamper it contained:
Two Keepr’s Balloon Glasses
One 5cl bottle of 1606 Dry Gin
One 5cl bottle of Keepr’s British Honey Gin
One 5cl bottle of English Heritage Elderflower & Rose Gin
One 5cl bottle of Dodd’s Organic Explorers Citrus & Spice Gin
One 200ml bottle of Fever-Tree Aromatic Tonic
One 200ml bottle of Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic
Two 200ml bottles of Fever-Tree Indian Tonic

The glasses were embossed with the Keepr’s logo and were good quality. They were just the right size not too large as some gin glasses can be. The gin bottles though small contained plenty for a gin tasting experience. There were three different tonics to mix the gins with. I honestly wasn’t sure which tonic would go best with which gin so I tried a small amount of each gin with each tonic to decide which went best and then mixed the gins to my chosen preference. As a classic G&T drinker I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the flavoured gins. After the 1606 Dry Gin, which was my favourite, I really liked the Keepr’s British Honey Gin which shocked me as I don’t actually like honey but it just added a slightly sweeter taste to a classic G&T.

The hamper was very well packaged so there was no chance of breakages in transit. I liked the fact that all the packaging including the hamper was recyclable.

After having a browse on the Keepr’s website this is just one of many tasting sets / gift sets that are available to purchase. They can come with not only gin but also bourbon, rum, vodka and other items. Most of these can be personalised with a message or personalised label on the bottle making them ideal gifts for any occasion. There is a useful cocktail section on their website with recipes of cocktails you can make using their products.

The good thing about the tasting kit was that it got me to try gins I probably would not have tried otherwise. I have been converted from being a classic G&T drinker to trying more flavoured combinations. Receiving this hamper brightened up my birthday and I would definitely recommend buying one of these sets as a gift for others. I am actually planning on purchasing one of these sets as a gift for Mothers Day for my mum I liked it that much.
