My daughter, granddaughter and myself visited Jimmy’s World Grill and Bar in Luton on a weekday lunchtime. My first impression was how large and how clean it was.

We were greeted by a manager, and although they were very busy, from that minute he couldn’t do enough for us.

As it was our first visit he explained how it all worked, starters were in the centre with hot meals to the side and back.

We were offered a choice of drinks: soft drinks, cocktails etc… but we chose diet cola.

There were just so many starters to choose from, and so many main meal choices. I suggest you visit their website and view the menus before going, you will be amazed! I chose a bit of this and a bit of that – coleslaw, pasta, pitta bread, sauces… and that was just from one side of the salad bar.

Starters finished we investigated the hot meals to the right. I went for Sweet and Sour Chicken mainly with rice, but also had Fajita and Pizza. I forgot to try some of the Beef in Black Bean Sauce or Vegetable Lasagne. There was a Noodle Station and they did Naan bread on request, Fajitas were made to order as were the Pizzas. I have no idea what my daughter and granddaughter tried, I was too busy with my own food. I know my granddaughter found some chips somewhere.

Off to the left you find the Dessert. I didn’t find the Tiramisu or Profiteroles on our visit which were mentioned in the menu, but there was fresh melon and pineapple, various cakes and cheesecakes, bananas in a caramel sauce, jelly, a chocolate fountain and marshmallows, jelly babies and jelly sweets. Oh and an ice cream station with various flavours of ice cream. My granddaughter was straight in there for a strawberry ice cream cornet!

We had finished out meal, but the manager came over and brought us some Gulub Jamin to try which is a popular Indian sweet, deep fried then drenched in a sugar syrup. We had ours with vanilla ice cream. My daughter reckoned it somehow tasted like sticky toffee pudding.

Tea and coffee were served to finish. I don’t think the manager thought we had eaten enough, but we were so full.

We were made to feel thoroughly welcome and there was so much choice of food. Even I found something to eat and I am a roast dinner person!

As we left my granddaughter was again eying up the ice cream cornets and the Manager encouraged her to go back for yet another strawberry ice cream to take away with her.

Thank you Jimmy’s World Grill and Bar!
