What a brilliant evening we had Wednesday night, watching the amazing Pasha Kovalev on his ‘It’s All About You’ tour at the Grove Theatre in Dunstable.
As huge fans of Strictly Come Dancing, my Mum and I were super excited to see the show and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Pavel ‘Pasha’ Kovalev, is a Russian Latin and Ballroom dancer. Pasha joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2011. After finishing runner-up on his first and second series, he then went on to win the fourth series in 2014.
As always, the Grove Theatre was a pleasure to visit. It is always easy to park in the car park, situated at the back of the theatre. Parking is free in the evenings, and is just a short walk to the theatre entrance.
As we entered the theatre, there was a nice warm atmosphere in the large open foyer. We made our way to the box office, where the friendly staff there were very quick to serve us and then show us to our seats.
We were delighted with our seats; the view of the stage was superb. The theatre was really starting to fill up with lots of excited people of all ages, waiting to see the show.
The curtain went up at 7.30pm, and there appeared on stage were four dancers. These dancers, Robert, James, Marcella and Victoria, were all amazing and supported Pasha throughout the whole show. Then Pasha appeared. The audience gave him a really loud cheer. It was wonderful.
Anya Garnis, was Pascha’s special guest, and was also dancing throughout the show. They were all brilliant. Their routines were breath-taking. The dancing was telling a beautiful love story; the movement, music, stage setting was absolutely mesmerising.
There were different costume changes for every scene. The ladies dresses were simply beautiful. With lots of sparkle and glamour.
In between each scene, Ricky Rojas, a talented entertainer, came on stage and sang several songs; old and new. He was very good. He had the audience singing, clapping and thoroughly enjoying themselves.
In the interval we popped out to the bar, and couldn’t help notice how hard the staff were working to get everyone served. The drinks and snacks were reasonably priced too.
As the show continued, there was one thing that really struck us, was how well Pasha interacted with the audience.
In one part Pasha chose three lucky ladies from the audience, to go up on stage to dance with him. He was very charming, and funny with it too. We laughed lots, and smiled all the way through.
This show is not to be missed. We were totally blown away; we couldn’t fault it. We had a fantastic evening, and will definitely be back next year!
