We are currently having an extension done at home so with plenty of new and existing walls to decorate I was pleased to be offered a canvas print from Ink & Drop to review. Having browsed the extensive selection on the website I chose to go with the Peace Fingers Typography Canvas Print in black and white to suit my new monochrome cloakroom. The print arrived promptly, well protected in a sturdy cardboard tube. On opening the tube, I found the rolled up canvas and a pair of black wall hangers which make up the “frame” of the print. Often when prints arrive in the post, they take ages to flatten out as they prefer to stay rolled up, but the weight of the canvas in Ink & Drop’s print meant that it unfurled and laid flat straight away. Next, I unwrapped the hangers which I thought would be really fiddly to fit, they weren’t, as I soon found out they were magnetic so just clipped together in seconds, very simple indeed. It also means if you have a specific place to fill its an easy job to just trim the top or bottom of your print to fit and the edge is covered by the wall hanger, assuming you have a steady hand that is!
Unpacked and hung up in seconds, my canvas print was a delight, the striking black hand depicting the peace sign really stands out on the white canvas. Printed onto the black hand in white are the words Peace, Love, Hope, Unity, Faith, Joy & Kindness bringing a touch of happiness to anyone that looks at it. The prints come in 5 sizes ranging from 21 x 30cm for a small space to 70 x 100cm for more of a statement piece. I received the middle size 40 x 50cm which, larger than A3, is the perfect size for most standard rooms whilst still creating some wow factor.
On researching the Company Ink & Drop I found that it is a small, family business with a team of only four people, consisting of two designers and their partners with backgrounds in interior design, fine art, graphic and poster/print design and all whilst continuing to juggle parenthood. The perfect ethos and one that I would like to give my support too. If you also like to support small business’s and are looking for a something special for your home, a gift for a special occasion or just a treat for a loved one I recommend visiting Inkanddrop.com and browsing their website. As well as their canvas print selection they also have an extensive paper print selection. With a choice of matt or gloss paper and seven sizes ranging right up to 100 x 150cm there is something for everyone. There is a huge array of styles to choose from including travel prints and neon art, you can even personalise some of the prints for a bespoke gift.
I found the prints particularly good value with prices from £13 up to £75 for the largest prints and they will definitely be on my future gifting list.
