These are my first pair of Hey Dude shoes but they won’t be my last as they really are very comfortable. They’re quite versatile as, in my opinion, they can be worn with a dressed up outfit for perfect comfort while out for the evening or worn with a casual daytime outfit without being too flashy for the look. The metallic shine gives them that little bit of flair and sparkle which I love. They are very comfy to wear and easy enough to slip on and off as they feature Hey Dudes easy on laces which don’t need tying. They do however require a finger to pop the heel up as slipping them on this part tends to flatten and stay under my foot. These shoes are a little looser on my feet than I like once on, however they don’t fall off at all and giving the laces a little pull to tighten them slightly works well. It is also possible to undo the knot on the lace and redo it making them permanently a little tighter though I have not tried this yet. They feature a foam insole which is easily removable should you find the shoes a little tight or just dislike this. I find the insoles comfortable so I have kept them in.
The Wendy Metallic Shine design of these shoes comes in black, silver or gold however the Wendy itself comes in a number of styles which provide a variety of other colour ways too so there is plenty of choice if you don’t want the metallic shine. They range in size from UK 4 to 9 ensuring that most adults can find a shoe in their size. The outsole is lightweight and flexible and actually feels like the sole on my crocs so I am confident it will hold up to being worn in light rain. The upper shoe is textile and as the silver colour I chose is so light they do show dirty marks very easily. I have found wipe with a damp cloth cleans them up nicely when this happens.
My one dislike to these shoes is that they don’t really have any arch support. That’s not unusual for most shoes though but I do find it means I wear the inner sides of the shoe down quite quickly overall as I find that I end up walking on the upper side of the shoe when there is no arch support stopping this. This issue is specific to my feet though and not something that most people need to worry about.
Overall I’m very happy with these shoes. They are nicely soft and lightweight and I have found them lovely and comfortable to wear without my feet, particularly my toes, feeling cramped in them. They look good and compliment many outfits. As they are so easy to slip on and off and are so comfortable these Hey Dude Wendy shoes may become my winter shoes this year, hopefully resulting in less soaked feet in the rain and snow as they don’t have the holes in the side that my crocs do!
