I received a fantastic parcel of beauty products to get ready for summer; SheaMoisture Illumination Body Lotion, SheaMoisture Illumination Body Wash – both available from Boots and the Lilibeth of New York Original Brow Shaper and a Face it Make-Up Remover Cloth, both available from MakeUpBoxLDN.
I am a beauty product addict and get so much pleasure trying out new things.
The SheaMoisture Body Wash and Body Lotion are both made with shea butter, coconut oil, hibiscus extract and songyi mushroom. Both of the products are designed for dull skin. As I explained, I am a beauty product addict so do not actually have dull skin so cannot judge the product on whether it enhances the appearance of dull skin.
Let’s start with the SheaMoisture Illumination Body Wash. This is a luxurious product, it has a lovely sheen and is quite thick not runny. Both the body lotion and body wash have the same scent. It is a pleasant scent, however it is a strong scent so if you prefer subtle tones then this is not the product range for you. If you are concerned about the quality of product that you use, then please do look into this range. They promise no sulphates, no parabens, no phthalates, no paraffin, no mineral oil and no synthetic colours.
The body wash lathers well and leaves you smelling fresh and feeling clean. I used the products for 7 days, using the moisturiser after each shower and my skin is soft with no dry areas.
The SheaMoisture Illumination Body Lotion is thinner than the usual products I use but spreads easily and absorbs into your skin well without leaving a greasy residue. I mentioned the scent earlier and although it is a strong scent it is not so overbearing you could not wear a perfume.
Both the body lotion and the body wash retail at £10.99 for 384ml so is a medium range, and its packaging reflects this. It is quite plain but gives a lot of information including the back story of the range.
The SheaMoisture story is a lovely family story stemming from a grandmother selling shea nuts in Sierra Leone in 1912 and her legacy continuing through her grandchildren continuing producing Shea products.
The Face It Make-up Remover Cloth (RRP: £12.99) is an exfoliating and cleansing cloth that you add water to use. It’s designed to simply slide your hands in and wash away. I don’t normally wash my face, I use cleansers, toners and moisturisers. I usually feel that my face feels tight when using water to cleanse it. The cloth was easy to use and comes with a plastic suction hook for storage, although despite several attempts the hook would not stay put. I used a toner after the cloth and the cotton wool was clean, so the cloth did its job! I broke out in all of 4 spots by my mouth (I don’t get spots, for real never) so it was a bit of a shock however, I put it down to the cloth possibly drawing out toxins but cannot confirm this either way.
The Lilibeth of New York Original Brow Shaper (RRP: £7.49), wow I loved this product. I hate plucking my eyebrows and I am a busy mum so making the time for beauty appointments is non-existent. The small product is almost like a cutthroat razor for the brow. It is so simple to use and gets all the lighter, downy hairs too. I have no words how simple and easy it is to use. The product retails for £7.49 and is worth every penny for those that do not have a lot of time to spend on your brows.
All the products that I used I have been so impressed with and would give them all a 4/5 rating! Great for looking good this summer.
