Get Into The Swing Of Things: Golf Tips For Newbie Players

No matter what your age, golf is a fantastic activity for improving your health and giving your fitness a boost. It burns a ton of calories, is a lot of fun to play, and is a great way to get more fresh air. Of course, that being said, getting into the swing of it can be a struggle at first, as it’s a game of skill more than anything else. However, taking the time to get the hang of swinging a golf club is more than worth your time and effort.

To make the process of getting into the swing of playing golf as a newbie to the game easier, below are some useful tips to take note of. (Do this and you’ll soon be playing like a pro!)

Head to the driving range

As a newbie golf player, it can take time to develop your skills. The best way to improve your golf game – aka your swing, stance, and driving, is by heading to the driving range. Spend some time at your local driving range practicing your golf moves. It may take time for you to improve but don’t give up, keep at it, and you will see results. Obviously, if you’re really struggling, getting a golf coach to give you a couple of lessons could be a good idea. Remember, practice makes perfect, so the more practice you can do, the better.

Get the right clubs

You may not want to go out and buy a whole new set of clubs when you’re so new to golf, but that doesn’t mean you should play with any old ones. In order to be able to improve your skills and play a good game of golf, you need to ensure that you have the right golf clubs for your height. The best clubs to opt for are lightweight ones, as these will not only be easier to play with but also to carry. You don’t have to buy your clubs brand new, second-hand clubs are ideal for a beginner, just make sure to pick clubs in the right size for you. If you’re not sure what that is, visit a golf store and get measured up.

Take part in tournaments

The more you play, the better your game will get. So consider taking part in a couple of local tournaments and see how well you do. If there are no tournaments in your area, look into organising one for you and some other local golfers. All you will need is a club to host it at and a couple of Premier Trophies golf trophies, to award to the winners. You may be able to get the event sponsored, or you may need to fundraise for it. Remember, it doesn’t matter how well you do, all that matters is that you take part. The more games you play and the more practice you get, the better your game will be.

Have a set schedule

When it comes to practicing your golf, having a set schedule in place for when you will practice is important. Ideally, you want to aim to practice at least two to three times a week, either with a friendly game or by going to the driving range. The more practice you can get, the better.

Getting into the swing of golf may take a bit of time, but it’s more than worth the effort. As once you’ve built up your skills, you’ll learn to love this easy going game.
