Designs by Lolita Butterflies Gin Glass Review

DESIGNS BY LOLITA all started with a girls’ night out… After Lolita was served a Cosmopolitan, her creative imagination made her see the glass differently – the way she thought it should be – a bit more dressed up with a pattern, with flair and a fabulous recipe on the bottom. It would become the first of many times Lolita would find a colourful vision dancing in a glass. After seeing each of her friends pick a different Martini, reflective of their distinct personalities, the foundation for a product line was created.
As a designer, Lolita brings her vision into her products as a reflection of the Lolita lifestyle. She injects her energy and charm into everything she produces, always pushing her designs in the fashion forward direction. She takes care to incorporate the latest inspiration into her unique ideas and style when designing.
The Lolita glass was delivered in good time, arriving well packaged, although marked with fragile the outer box was damaged during transit but due to the protective inner layers of packaging there was no further damage to the glasses main packaging. The glass is held within a cylindrical style box with an easy lift off lid, the glass top and bottom are each protected with a sponge foam shaped to snuggly fit the glass to prevent any movement or breakage.
The glass is tactile and fits nicely within your hand, measuring 19.5cm in height. It has been carefully hand painted with an array of brightly coloured butterflies, outlined in black giving them a bold look, touches of glitter and an assortment of beautiful multiple coloured gems add to the overall beauty of the glass. I noted that the gems were securely adhered to the glass. The design flows from the rim of the glass down into the stem to around the base of the glass, on the underside of the base is a block of colour with a hand wrote style cocktail recipe titled ‘BUTTERFLIES’ and the ‘Lolita’ signature.
Although it sparkles with the home lighting, I just can’t wait to use it in the garden whilst relaxing in the sun as it will sparkle even more in the sunlight.
I was unable to find any care guide for the glass but would presume it is best to hand wash and not be placed in a dishwasher as this may decrease the life and look of the glass (the FAQs on their website does say their glasses are not dishwasher safe).
This glass would make a fantastic gift for the person who has everything and you really just don’t know what to get them, whether it be for Easter or a birthday or just because you want to treat someone, whoever is the recipient will be made to feel special receiving this. Although the retail price of £28 may sound high, you are after all buying a bespoke exquisite gin glass.
