The Blackpool Big Ticket 7 Attractions Review
The Blackpool Big Ticket
7 Merlin Attractions

The Blackpool Big Ticket gets a big thumbs up for ease of use, one queue to buy it and pay for it and entry into 7 of Blackpool’s biggest attractions including the Tower Eye, the Tower Ballroom, the Tower Circus, the Tower Dungeons, Jungle Jims, Sealife Centre and Madame Tussauds.
At first glance the price seems very steep with an on the door cost of £90.20 (about £12.89 per attraction) per adult) and £65.25 (£9.32) per child aged 3 – 14 years, but bear in mind that this covers 7 different attractions. However, by simply booking them online a minimum of 24 hours before you go the prices are halved to £45 (£6.43 per attraction) per adult and £32.50 (£4.64 per attraction) per child. Booking the Big Ticket online for a family of four is up to £50 cheaper than buying online tickets for each individual attraction! A saving not to be grumbled at!
The Ticket is great value for money as it can be used up to three months from purchase date! You do not have to use it consecutively, so it may last a few trips. However, if you plan to visit in the winter make sure it is at the weekend, as not all attractions are open midweek out of season and the Tower Eye closes due to bad weather. It is also worth noting that the circus does not run from January to April! Always check the attraction website’s prior to attendance as Merlin keeps them up to date very well!
The Tower Eye is a wonderful experience for the whole family! You start by sharing a sensory experience with a small boy at the seaside through a 4D show. Then you get to the new skywalk which has the glass floor and glass front – allowing you to enjoy breath taking views over Blackpool.
The Tower Ballroom is an architectural dream! A beautiful room with stunning décor and it has an exquisite ceiling. Enjoy a drink or even afternoon tea, while listening to beautiful organ music played live! Sit back and enjoy watching people ballroom dancing or have a go yourself! My under 5s didn’t want to sit long though more for the adults but definitely worth seeing.
The Tower Circus is a favourite in our family! The kids love the show set in an old theatre style room! The main characters – the clowns Mooky and Mr Boo are outstanding, with jokes aimed at all ages. The acrobatics, dancing and stunts are amazing – couldn’t keep our eyes off the stage!
The Tower Dungeons is a fabulous 40 minute delve into the deep, dark history of Blackpool! It is an excellent walk round attraction with hilarious actors and actresses and an eerie dark setting and ending with a thrilling drop ride. There is a lot to keep you; laughing, nervous and possibly screaming! Not for under 8s!
Jungle Jims is a well set out and designed soft play. It was a section for babies and toddlers and then an area for older children. My kids love their ‘Lost City’ adventure with slides, ball pools, climbing frames and more. Mum, dad and older siblings can enjoy snacks and drinks at the reasonably priced café.
Sealife Centre is a well laid out marine attraction that is fun for all the family from babies to grandparents. The kids enjoyed looking at and touching some of the Sealife, while we enjoyed finding out about the Sealife. It has a wonderful shark tunnel and deep ocean viewing area for all to enjoy! It is well themed and the décor makes it much more than just looking at fish! It’s more like being part of a deep sea dive!
Madame Tussauds is a waxwork museum! It allows you to get up close and personal with some of your favourite celebrities, be part of TV shows like; I’m a Celebrity, X factor, Jeremy Kyle, Celebrity Juice and much more. There are a few photo stop opportunities with no obligation to buy. The kids enjoyed meeting Bob the Builder, Spiderman and Shrek. This attraction is amazing for family photographic memories.
All 7 attractions were clean and all staff were friendly, helpful and great with the children. Most of them were child friendly with good baby change facilities and lifts.
I would highly recommend the Blackpool Big Ticket, however I would say it is of more value in season than out of season, due to some attractions limitations and closures in winter!
A big thumbs up to Merlin!
