The Flipslide is a new, fun, addictive interactive game with four different games to play and single-player and multiplayer options. The aim of the game is to move the blocks by turning, moving or flipping to match the current light colour pattern. The tricky part is moving the blocks quickly enough to score the points.
If I had to describe Flipslide, it is like a pimped-up, modern, interactive version of a Rubix Cube.
The game is extremely tactile, challenging fine motor skills even for adults but developing thinking and logic skills. We found the game very beneficial for helping develop fine motor skills and improving dexterity for both the children and adults that played.

Memory skills are challenged by remembering the order of the lights to complete the challenge.
There are four different game modes:
-Speed Mode, beat the clock
-Level Mode, level up to win
-Memory Mode, remember the sequence
-Multiplayer, challenge your opponent

The four game modes offer their own challenges, and as a family, we all had different favourite game modes. The multiplayer mode was everyone’s favourite, as this created a great family fun time, followed by the Speed Mode for me, with the 8-year-old child enjoying the Memory Mode the most. Personally, I thought the Memory Mode was very challenging for a child, but they were not deterred by it. They thrived from the challenge and scored a new top score each time they played.
We have found Flipslide very addictive and competitive, enjoying playing alone and as multiplayer.
The one thing we found a bit annoying is that it is tricky to turn the sound on the game, the tune can become tiring over time, and the default volume is too loud for my liking, but I have sensitive hearing.
Flipslide is perfectly in proportion to hold in your hands and move the pieces around to play the game. Due to the size and lightness of the game, it is great for taking on journeys or playing outside of the home. Unlike other games, you can dip in and out of this gaming, playing for as long or as little as you like, totally fitting in with you.
The game is aimed at 8+, I believe the s is accurate for a child playing alone, but with some assistance, a younger child could easily join in. We had a 5 yr old play happily with some help at first, but they can now play independently.
The Flipslide game would make a wonderful Christmas present as it is suitable for the whole family in terms of age and ability. Priced at £19.99, I think its s great value with the four different play modes and comparable to a board game and cheaper than a computer game. It is perfect for people that like games and playing games on devices due to the interactive feedback, with the added bonus that it does not require a screen and reduces screen time.
Rating: Overall, I rate Flipslide 5/5.
RRP: The flipside games costs £19.99
