With bath time a daily occurrence for my little boy and increasingly being needed now food, mud and messy play are also involved, finding a body wash that is gentle on his skin whilst cleaning effectively has been key. Since he was a new born we have used the same brand so I was keen to be allocated this organic kids and baby wash by Alteya to encourage us to try a new one.

The package arrived very simply but sufficiently wrapped, with no excess packaging in sight. Upon opening I liked the child friendly yet stylish bottle where a bright orange, blue and yellow design stands out clearly against a white background. I thought this colour palate and the use of a transparent bottle cleverly highlights the warm yet natural looking colouring of the body wash itself. The line drawing type design on the sticker features friendly looking animals including birds, hedgehogs and owls. Whilst some may say the packaging is not important, I personally think it is, as due to such frequent use the body wash will largely stay on the edge of the bath tub and therefore be on show. I also thought it was a great idea to name the product ‘kids and baby wash’ to allow older siblings to be happy to use it too and not be put off by using a ‘baby’ product. I have found that many baby friendly products are solely aimed at babies, meaning multiple products are required unnecessarily.

Alteya as a brand make certified organic and Non-GMO products, and this children’s body wash is no exception. Advertised as free from ‘Sulfates, Parabens, Synthetic and Harsh Ingredients’ it certainly seems to be considering a baby’s delicate and sensitive skin. The product is also vegan and cruelty free, so no testing on animals, which is great.

I have used the product several times on my little boy now. The thick soft liquid forms a generous lather which is pleasant to apply with your hands or flannel. The body wash is advertised to smell of ‘rose and orange.’ The citrusy orange is the standout element of the scent, making it smell distinctly fresh. After use my baby’s skin felt soft and strongly smelt of a more traditional soap which at least made him smell very clean!

The bottle contains 250ml of body wash, so a fairly standard size. I have only been using the product a week but I can imagine, due to the small amount required for each use (easily gained by the push pump dispenser), that this will go far and hopefully mean body wash does not need to be added to the shopping list very frequently. The product is also available in 150ml (for £7.30) and 400ml (for £11.90) bottles with a rose and chamomile scent. A great product to be bought for your own children or as a gift for any parent or parent to be.

Rating: My little boy and I would give this body wash a rating of 4 out of 5.
