Since they’ve become a trend over the last few years my children have played with many different slimes, sands and putties but we’ve not come across anything like Craze Sensations which seems to combine them all.

Craze Sensations is all about combining two elements together to make satisfying sensations which make sounds and have different textures. It comes as a four pack and the best way to describe each one is that they are a bit like a corner yogurt! One side has the compound then the smaller triangle section has decorative pieces and tips up to mix them together.

There are four different compounds and each four pack comes with one of each sort however there are a total of twelve different ones to collect. There is a small booklet explaining each one and a checklist to tick off what you have collected. It is suitable for three plus years.

The first compound is butter slime. Despite its name it’s actually a bit more putty like. It is not stretchy but it can be moulded into shapes and we found it did not make any mess or leave any residue. The second type is foam which is very stretchy and soft. Again it didn’t make any mess! The next type of compound is sand. This is basically the moldable play sand that sticks together not leaving any grains behind. The final type is called slime bomb. Again despite the name it wasn’t sticky or slimy at all but very stretchy. Each compound also has a different pleasant scent such as cherries. The different deco pieces ranged from foam pieces to sparkly gems and beads. They mixed in easily and can also be mixed and matched with the different compounds.

The idea behind craze sensations is to help children relax. It’s all about feeling different sensations and using the different textures to make ASMR sounds. This means ‘autonomous sensory meridian response’ which is a relaxing, sedative sensation also known as a brain massage!

I was really surprised by how long my children played with this toy. They enjoyed just squeezing, stretching and crunching it and also had fun moulding different shapes and animals. They have had them out a few times now and each time the compounds are easily stored away in the lidded pots they come in without making any mess.

At £9.99 for the four pack, I think these are really good value for money. That makes each one only around £2.50. We’ve paid more for other similar items that have not lasted as long and just made a slimy mess my children didn’t enjoy! For this reason they make the ideal pocket moment toy. With how expensive some toys are, it’s great to find an engaging, relaxing toy that is such high quality for a low price. My two children are already saving up their pocket money to buy another four pack to add to their collection.
