Father Christmas on the Naughty Step by Mark Sperring Review

Reviewed by Louisa Nashir

This fun and festive story is a great way to begin the countdown to Christmas.

The book written by Mark Sperring and illustrated by Tom McLaughlin is a modern twist on your regular story.

The story starts on Christmas Eve and follows a boy called Sam who instead of doing fun things ready for Christmas finds himself in the naughty step but he isn’t alone.

His friend Captain Buckleboots the pirate is too after writing to Father Christmas saying the other pirates don’t want their presents and can he have them all and so is Father Christmas!!!

Father Christmas explains he opened a present which wasn’t his and after a mishap the elves were not happy.

Father Christmas is very sorry and a little embarrassed to be on the naughty list so with Sam’s help he apologises to the elves and is taken off the naughty list in time to deliver presents.

A funny story with a great message, of you do wrong then show people you are sorry.

I have a feeling this book is going to be a favourite with my daughter Kate!

A brilliant book with a true meaning.
