Outstanding Customer Service Really Does Make All The Difference

DISCLOSURE - WE WERE FULL PAYING NORMAL CUSTOMERS OF THESE BUSINESSES.

By Debbie Talbot

I have recently experienced several shining examples of customer service and so decided to give the companies a mention on www.whatsgoodtodo.com.

Mastercars, Bedfordshire

The first company that I wish to mention is Mastercars in Sandy, Bedfordshire. My partner purchased a caravan from them during the summer. They had a good selection of cars, caravans and motorhomes. Their premises was clearly well looked after and clean.   Everyone we came across there was really helpful and knowledgeable, both before and after the caravan was purchased.  They even offered free delivery on the caravan within a certain distance.  The person who delivered the caravan was very helpful and even wrote down some notes that we could refer to in the future.  I would highly recommend this company.

Camping and Leisure.co.uk

The second company that I think deserves a mention is Camping and Leisure.co.uk. I was on the lookout for a porch awning for my partner’s caravan and came across one that I felt was an absolute bargain. The person who I spoke to answered any questions I had about the porch awning in an approachable and knowledgeable way.  They even sent me links to the optional items I was interested in buying as I wasn’t quite sure which items to buy.  The company even kindly put the items aside until later this month.

Preloved Caravan Awnings.co.uk

Someone in my life purchased a preloved Isabella full awning and tall annex from Preloved Caravan Awnings back in the summer.  The owner of the company was very helpful and guided us in which awning and annex was best for a seasonal pitch.  They even kindly swapped out the poles to the type of poles which are better for a seasonal pitch.  Delivery was fast and overall we have found them to be such an approachable and reliable company.  The awning and annex were fantastic and importantly as described.  We wouldn’t hesitate to use this company again.

The George Hotel in Huntingdon

My partner and I recently spent a weekend in his caravan which is on a seasonal pitch in Cambridgeshire.  We ventured out to Huntingdon on the Saturday for lunch and came across The George Hotel. It had a good sized car park.  We phoned the hotel with a query before our visit and spoke to a friendly and approachable member of staff who answered our query.   Upon arrival at the car park we found it easy to park in one of several available car park spaces.  Although my partner did have to pay for parking, he was able to claim the full amount back as he was a hotel customer.  Upon arrival at the hotel a friendly member of staff saw us to a table in an adjoining room. She was very attentive but not too intrusive.

Our drinks order was brought over quickly. There was a good choice of items on the menu.  My chicken burger and chips was delicious.  My partner’s hunters chicken and chips looked amazing.  It had so much yummy looking sauce.   The toilet facilities were spotless and clearly regularly checked.   Whilst we arrived too late to eat from the lunch menu, it is available in a morning.  Service was outstanding throughout our visit and the George Hotel had such a lovely atmosphere. We are already planning a return visit.

Edison Bar/Restaurant in Monton, Greater Manchester

I recently decided to have some ‘me time’ in Monton and when walking through the village I noticed a bar/restaurant called Edison which I have never been to.  It looked lovely from the outside and so I decided to give it a go.  I received fantastic service from every member of staff I came across from the moment I walked through the door. It was also lovely to see the excellent working relationship that they had with each other. I chose to sit at a table close to the bar.  I ordered a lime and lemonade and a meatball marinara sandwich.  I opted to buy seasonal chips with my sandwich which cost an additional £1.50.  The sandwich itself cost around £9.50 and my whole bill came to around £14.00.  My food and drink came quickly and my food tasted divine.  There was plenty of marinara sauce on my sandwich. Staff were very attentive and my table was cleared quickly after my meal. I visited the toilet facilities whilst at the premises and they were spotless.  They are clearly checked on a regular basis.  I had a lovely time at the venue and cannot wait to visit again.
