If you kids are mad for dogs and a day out with thousands of them sounds like their kind of heaven, then check out four-legged festival DOGSTIVAL, which takes place this 3rd and 4th June at the beautiful Broadlands Estate in Hampshire. With the theme of the festival dedicated to – yes, you guessed it – dogs’ four-legged fun, the event is jam-packed with activities to delight hounds and humans alike.
Prepare to be dazzled by epic arena doggy displays, as well as Shetland pony displays where child ‘jockey’ riders will be whizzing around. The main arena will also be hosting Dogstival’s first ever Doggie Sports Day – think eight-legged races, relay with dogs or a spot of egg and spoon, which are bound to get plenty of laughs from the kids. And whether you bring the family dog or make it a humans-only affair, there’s heaps of activities to get involved in or watch including agility, scentwork, flyball, a Barkour adventure playground and giant splash pools, which water-loving dogs can launch themselves into for a refreshing dip!
Head to the Dogfuriendly Muddy Paws Tavern, which will be hosting family-friendly doggy discos, dog bingo and pub quizzes, as well as Doga (yoga for dogs). For fun for all the family, also be sure to check out The Hound Dog Stage will host tribute acts such as Sing Out Sisters Abba Tribute and a 30-strong ‘En Masse Pop Choir’. Dogstival will also have a vintage fun fair.
There’s no need to pack a picnic either, as Dogstival is known for its brilliant food. For humans, there’s tasty food such as crispy duck rotisserie, melted cheese raclette and churros, as well as family faves of burgers and pizza. The dog’s tail will be wagging too thanks to treats from The Four-Legged Fancies bakery, puppuccinos from Pop & Bark, mini dog pizza from the Chulli Pizza stand and every treat imaginable, which are available at a selection of more than 140 shopping stands.
