When it comes to an exceptional dining experience, I look for great food, brilliant service, and a delightful ambience – as well as good company of course. Elevate Brasserie brought all of these things together for myself and my friend as we tried the new restaurant in the Bournemouth International Centre. As we entered the Brasserie we were given a warm welcome by the staff there and shown around. There is a large outdoor space with wooden benches and cushions on one side, and chic grey tables and chairs as well, with large canopies overhead that would keep the sun or rain off when needed. These were also equipped with heaters for the colder evenings, as you will want to sit outside for as long as possible to soak up the beautiful sea view. It is well situated, with views from many of the inside tables as well. The inside of the restaurant is decorated very tastefully, with beautiful colours, plants and paintings throughout, bringing a modern elegant feel. There is a quieter ‘lounge’ section that can also be used for drinks or nibbles if desired, as well as a few tall chairs at the bar.

The menu has a wide variety of choices, from small tapas type horderves, to burgers and pizzas. There is also a small children’s menu, but I am sadly yet to see a dessert menu. Myself and my friend tried several of the horderves, which showed artfully crafted dishes, each a masterpiece of flavours and textures. We tried the smoked mackerel and preserved lemon terrine with golden raisin puree and sumac chickpeas, the beetroot carpaccio, squash, artichoke heart and pumpkin seeds, the smoked duck breast with compressed watermelon and yuzu, and the Harissa lamb bon bon with chickpea puree, squash and dukkha. Each one was made with careful attention and presented with edible flowers and caviar on top. The lamb bon bon was my favourite, with it being crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and an absolute delight with every bite. I wasn’t personally keen on the beetroot and artichoke dish, but my friend did enjoy this.

The attentive waitstaff were keen to make sure we had enough to eat and drink and were enjoying ourselves, without being on top of us and simply letting us enjoy the company, food and view. Elevate is nestled in the heart of the Bournemouth, and is easily accessible by public transport or by car, with car parks within a couple of minutes walking distance. You can easily combine a meal here with a show afterwards, or just enjoy the view for as long as possible! The restaurant serves food from 12-9pm, and is open a little longer for drinks.

What sets Elevate apart is not just the extraordinary culinary creations but also the impeccable ambience creating a relaxed yet elegant evening. The prices seem a little high for the small plates, but they are justified by the obvious hard work in creating an unforgettable dining experience. It’s an ideal destination for a business lunch or a romantic dinner, and I’m looking forward to taking my husband back here and trying other items on the menu – especially their stone baked pizza.

In conclusion, I would recommend Elevate as a place to relax, appreciate the view, and enjoy well crafted food and drink. They have left me with a great lasting impression and I am looking forward to returning in the near future.
