Edifier S350DB Bluetooth Speakers Review

Reviewed by David Savage

I have been a big fan of Edifier speakers for a number of years now. For me they have also been of excellent build quality and sound perfect. Therefore, I was delighted to try out a new set; S350DB.

The Edifier S350DB is a 2.1 bookshelf speaker system. The first noticeable thing about these speakers and subwoofer is the weight; around 19kg! The next noticeable thing is their classic old school look in a dark wood colour. And as for the sound – they really do bring films and music to life!

The S350DB comes with a massive subwoofer and 2 bookshelf speakers. They have Bluetooth, RCA, optical, coaxial and AUX connectivity options, and come with a unique remote control (it’s round).

With the different connection types I had a variety of options that I could connect them to; television, phone, mp3 player, tablet etc. I decided to use them via Bluetooth (Bluetooth 4.1 aptX Wireless Sound) with my tablet and by the 3.5mm and optical cable on my television. It doesn’t matter what connection you use, connection to your chosen device is straightforward and simple and you can select the connection on the remote control.

Despite looking good, the most important thing is the sound! And the S350DB are perfect. Featuring an 8-Inch Booming Subwoofer and Titanium Dome Tweeters the sound is loud, full of bass and extremely clear. You can control the sound via the dials on the side of the speaker or by the remote control. With 150w power output the sound is perfect for all rooms in any house and not distorted, even at the highest volume (with music, games and films). The amplified 8-inch subwoofer even comes with enhanced side panel bass reflex port to enhance the listening experience.

The Edifier S350DB also use digital signal processing and dynamic range control for amplifying quiet sounds as well as reduce loud sounds that may cause clipping and unpleasant sounds.

Overall, the Edifier S350DB are perfect. I love the old school look and the dark wood but most of all, the sound is perfect. Using them with music and films really does make the watching and listening experience so much more enjoyable.

The build quality is of a very high standard and are worth every penny of their £250 price tag.

Very impressive look with an even more impressive sound.
