Stick Man lives in a family tree with his stick lady love and his stick children three. One day Stick Man goes for a jog – and it all goes downhill from there. He is firstly played with by a dog, which leads to being used as a bat by a couple on the beach, to nearly being placed on a fire.

My daughter and I arrived at The Lowry in Salford Quays, Manchester with time to spare. We collected our tickets and made our way to the Quays Theatre, which is a generally shows kids shows. The show started promptly and we were greeted by three enthusiastic members of the cast, the main character played Stickman, there was a female actress who took on a number of roles and another male who was a kind of one man band and he narrated.

The show was completely engaging for the children, all of them seemed to be enthralled. The characters included the audience as much as possible and probably more than any other children’s show that we have been to see.

My daughter seemed to really enjoy the show. She has read Stick Man at school and kept me updated throughout the show on what was to come next. I really liked how they kept it true to the story, yet making it last for 45 minutes.

The acting was impeccable and the set very imaginative yet simple. We had such a lovely time watching The Stick Man Live, it is suitable for children age 3 and over but I saw younger children who were captivated with the whole show.

Overall, the show was fantastic and I would recommend it to any families who want a great day out at the theatre.

Rating: 5/5 thumbs_up
