The funny characters on the Doodlebugs box made Kate giggle and she called them silly, they really tickled her and put her in a great mood to play.
The colourful red and green box makes it every eye-catching and fun looking. The game is age 3+ and a fun way to learn about shapes and colours. Kate's 10 year old sister joined us to play and found the game a lot of fun. Kate couldn't quite grasp the idea at first but after a few plays she soon got the hang of it.
The object of the game is to be the first player to get rid of your Doodlebugs card. The players start with 5 cards each and the remaining cards are then placed face down in a pile and the top card is turned over and put face up next to the pile. The youngest player goes first and if they had a matching bug or colour on their card then the may place it on top of the upturned card. If the player does not have a matching colour or bug then they take a card from the face down pile and add it to their cards. A wildcard is included in the cards which can be used as any colour or bug. The cards were made from thick card which were almost impossible for Kate to bend so they will last a long time.
Kate and her sister really enjoyed playing this game and it was lovely to see Kate sat down and really concentrating on what she had to do. A huge thumbs up from all of us.
