Disney Frozen Playdate 81cm Elsa Doll Review

If you’re looking for a gift to suit a child over the age of 3 who loves Frozen then the Playdate Elsa doll would be perfect. Although it does state the size of the doll on the website is 81cm, I was still pleasantly surprised at how big it actually was in person. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I opened the door to the enormous box.

After opening the box you will find the Elsa doll with a dress and pair of shoes. There are also some hair accessories which includes a hairbrush, 3 hair clips and 18 snowflake pop-out pieces.

Elsa is a fictional character from Walt Disney’s movie Frozen. She has lovely, long blonde hair and is known as the Ice Queen due to being able to create and manipulate ice or snow. She is known to wear a beautiful, long blue dress that makes her look very elegant and stylish which is why you find children love to wear it as a dressing up outfit.

As the doll is very big, I did expect it to be a little heavier than it is so it’s really beneficial how lightweight it is. This will enable children to pick her up and take her with them at ease. With 11 points of articulation, it means that there are lots of different poses the doll can show off and it will really maximise the interaction with the child. Elsa can even sit down and be the guest that every child wants to have at their tea party.

My niece is 6 years old and I knew that this would be the most perfect gift for her. She absolutely loves Frozen and is always talking about Elsa. It was the most amazing moment watching the big smile on her face whilst tearing open the wrapping paper for her to then see her favourite character which was nearly the same size as her! There is a display window meaning that you get to see the doll before you actually open the box. We’d only just taken Elsa out of the box and my niece was already brushing her hair and putting the clips in. She’d only ever experienced playing with small dolls so she was beyond excited to have one this size.

The product is suitable for children over the age of 3 years old which is understandable due to the hair accessories and pop-out pieces being really small. As this isn’t an interactive doll, it allows the child to use their imagination to create magical memories and adventures.

I strongly believe this doll is excellent value for money and it is very well made. The quality is fantastic and seems very durable. I am more than confident that this doll will provide hours of fun for any child of a suitable age. Seeing the excitement on a child’s face is just priceless and although the size of a gift doesn’t always matter, I can guarantee this will bring so much joy to somebody.
