Now that the cold weather has arrived, I was delighted to have the opportunity to try the Didriksons Vinson Kid’s Parka for my young granddaughter. This beautiful warm winter coat is available in a range of stylish colours, but the one I selected came in a lovely shade of pine green, which really suited my granddaughter’s fair skin tone and blonde hair.

The parka is extremely well designed, is three-quarter length and is 100% waterproof and windproof with taped seams. It has a detachable hood with a removable synthetic fur trim.

There are two large button-down front pockets, which are so handy for storing my granddaughter’s possessions, or just to keep her little hands warm. The elasticated cuffs have a little thumbhole for extra comfort and warmth. The arm cuff, hem and hood are fully adjustable and there is a chin guard which means no discomfort when the jacket is zipped up. There are reflective strips on the hood, sleeves and the back of the parka so children can be easily seen on dark evenings. One really fantastic feature is the extendable sleeve, which means that the coat grows an extra size as the child grows, so it can be used for more than one winter. My granddaughter is quite tall for her age and has recently had a growth spurt so I am very happy that I will not have to go and buy her another coat too soon as I can just alter the sleeves on this one.

The Vinson parka is the best designed children’s coat I have ever seen. It is stylish and practical and perfect for keeping warm and dry, whatever the weather, and I would have no hesitation in recommending this coat to my friends and family.

The Didriksons Vinson Kid’s Parka has a Dry Level of 5, a Heat Level of 13 and is available in Amethyst, Honeycomb, Navy and Pine Green. For more information visit
