A cami or vest top is a staple in most women’s wardrobe’s for a variety of reasons. Need an extra layer for winter? No problem! Need something to layer under that shirt to be able to breast feed? Absolutely! Too hot and want to stay cool? Grab a cami/vest top! I’d be lost without mine so to be able to review the Classic Nursing Cami by Bravado Design was a win win for me.
Bravado Designs started designing bras back in 1992 and they pride themselves ‘on making somebody feel good about themselves’. As well as offering the nursing cami’s they also sell every day underwire bras, nursing bras and expressing bras. I wish I had known about the expressing bras when I had my first child. They would have come in very handy.
Luckily my parcel arrived in the post quickly and it was simply packaged in tissue paper inside a parcel bag. At first glance i was worried I’d ordered the wrong size as it looked very slim however I was pleasantly surprised as it fit very well. The classic nursing cami comes with a built in padded bra which is very comfortable and offers great support. As I have a slightly larger cup size I do always worry about how much support a built in bra will actually offer but this time it ticked all of the boxes for me in regards to the support. One thing I viewed as a down side was that it rolled up if I didn’t tuck the cami into my shorts/jeans. I’m sure when you are using this whilst pregnant you wouldn’t experience this it would sit over your bump but for nursing I’d suggest tucking it in to save yourself the time if constantly pulling it down, it was quite annoying be first time I wore it.
The classic nursing cami offers 4-way stretch fabric which means it is suitable for both pregnancy and nursing. The clips at the top of the bra make it easily accessible for feeding and it also has removable foam inserts which I think offer a great shape to the top and also made it more discreet so you weren’t able to obviously see my breast pads. There is a simple strap that runs down the side of the breast which offers a little support when feeding and is similar to what you would find in most other nursing bras. Unlike some of nursing bras I have worn I found this to be quite comfortable and didn’t dig in when I was feeding.
The Classic Cami comes in 5 different sizes to suit a range of shapes and sizes as well as 4 different colours which is helpful if you’d like to be able to co-ordinate your outfit. With 3 little children under 5 I opted for black so I could use if with more outfits. At a price of £30 it is more expensive than others on the market but the quality of the fabric and design is worth the extra in my opinion.
