I’ve been meaning to replace my current case with something more protective for quite a while so I was delighted with the opportunity to review a personalised case from Cewe. I had a good look at the Cewe website and explored all the different iPhone case styles they offered. There’s quite a few styles to choose from. After some deliberation I chose a premium case as I hoped this would provide good protection for my phone, which I drop a lot. It frequently bounces down the stairs to hit the wall at the bottom and often lands screen down on the laminate. Concrete is another favoured surface for screen down landing. As a result my phone is never without both a case and a glass screen protector. I don’t like the bulky, and expensive, cases that claim to be the best as they add bulk and weight but I still want a case that will protect my phone itself from damage and scratches and it’s a bonus if it protects the screen too.

Having decided on a case style I then took some time choosing which photos I wanted to test for the personalised picture. It was a very easy process to upload photos so I could see how it should look on my case. Once uploaded there were tools to allow me to edit or adjust pictures as necessary. The first picture I tried was taken a good ten years or more ago and thus I was not shocked when the quality was flagged as potentially too poor to create a good photo on a case. I really like that they told me this too. Next I tried a couple of pictures taken last year before I decided which one I thought would look best and that I would order. When I was happy with the way it looked I took a few minutes to swap between glossy and Matt finish and decide which I wanted. It was then easy to follow the purchase process and my new case was ordered. Notification that my personalised case would be dispatched arrived by email a few days later and my case arrived in the mail shortly after that. The packaging identified the product as coming from Cewe so I knew what it was straight away.

I was delighted with how the picture looked printed on the actual case, it wraps around to the sides of the case as well as being on the back and it looks better in reality than I had expected. I have now had it on my phone for a couple of weeks and I am very happy with it. Straight away it felt a stronger and more protective case than my old one. I was confident that it would take the brunt of the fall when I invariably dropped my phone. I was a little concerned that it might not be secure enough of a fit on my phone, as the top and bottom edges stop at the corners and I haven’t had a case that didn’t have four full edges before. However once in the case my phone did feel very secure and despite having opportunities to pop out it has remained firmly and securely in the case. It’s a very good fit for my phone model. The sides are raised a tiny bit rather than flat with my screen. Many cases I’ve tried don’t achieve this goal once I add a glass screensaver so the fact that there still a tiny visible gap with the screensaver is a bonus.

I’ve never considered getting a personalised case before as I didn’t really see the point. Now I know what I was missing I suspect I won’t go back to generic cases again. It is really nice having a photo that I took myself on my case and so far I can’t feel any nicks, scratches or anything other than smoothness anywhere on it despite my having dropped my phone a few times since I put it on. I suspect this case will last as long as I have this phone. Compared to my old case it’s much better quality, a much better fit and not even double the cost.
