Firstly, I need to point out how I have always been amazed that along with so many other kits I have had, this kit too, is environmentally friendly as it is made using 100% sustainable cardboard and paper, making it Eco-friendly too. Well, how exciting is this and exciting being the operative word as I have built a couple of this brands kits before with my grandchildren and was so excited to try out this one. As soon as it arrived, I told my 2nd eldest grandson who is coming up for 13 years old to come round and see what I got for him.
Now, this brings a whole new concept to making and flying paper planes. WOW, just WOW!
If you are looking for a project that combines education, entertainment, hands and eye co-ordination and lots of fun, the Build Your Own Kit Plane Launcher is definitely what you need. The ideas and imagination behind the creativity and engineering is phenomenal. It is great for children, great for bring families together and to interact with each other and it is not just for children, even the most curious of adults are intrigued, especially my husband who is in his 60’s LOL.
To build the plan launcher, there are 47 press out parts in total and these are divided up into sections on card. The pieces of card have been made easy to use when taking each piece of the board it is placed on.
The mechanics of putting the kit together is easy. No glue is required at all as the pieces just slot together and there is also 2 four page leaflets which shows and gives you illustrative instructions on how to put the kit together.
It says on the box 45 minutes to build the kit but we took longer, that is because we allowed each other to take turns. This was great, we were not in a rush and to be honest, it is not about rushing education, it is about having fun whilst learning and they certainly got that.
There is a skill rating on the box too, it says 3 out of 5 stars and as an adult and young teenager, I say that is about right.
I love the fact that not only is it fun but it is very educational and supports STEM Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. It is also great for cognitive learning and development such as eye and hand co-ordination.

So, once the plane launcher was built, we were ready to go and OMG, the distance it launches is phenomenal (please refer below under heading (Launch Distance). We had so much fun!
