Brewers Fayre The Coach House Manchester Review

Reviewed by Lucy Knight

What better way to spend a Thursday night than with my beautiful family having a lovely meal served by attentive, friendly staff in a chilled out, relaxed environment.

My partner and I along, with our 2 children aged 5 and 20 months have just returned home from a visit to The Coach House, at The Trafford Centre. We have been here a couple of times before and have always enjoyed it.

Thursday’s are quite hectic in our house. After work I take my 5 year old daughter to swimming followed by Rainbows, so cooking is always the last thing on my mind. We were so lucky tonight to be asked to review the Brewers Fayre restaurant in preparation for Father’s Day. So off we went after Rainbows had finished to our local restaurant, which is about 5 minutes drive at The Trafford Centre.

Parking was easy, there is a designated car park for the restaurant and it wasn’t too busy, so we managed to get a spot close to the door. Which was good, because trying to get anywhere without my toddler trying to escape is a nightmare.

We settled down at a table close to the window and had a browse through the menus. There is a great selection available, which is general pub style menu. We decided to go for three courses with it being a Father’s Day treat. Daddy went for some BBQ chicken wings, smothered chicken and chocolate brownie, my 5 year old daughter went for veg sticks and dips, chicken breast and chocolate brownie and I went for nachos, 8oz rump steak and chocolate fudge cake. My son shared with us all as he had eaten an early tea. The food was really good and just what I needed after a long week at work.

The staff were really good, I loved how the waitress conversed with my children and nothing was too much for them. I changed my order around so it was healthier and this wasn’t a problem at all. They were present constantly, there was no hiding away like you see in most restaurants.

My only complaint was that the children’s play area was closed for painting, so my daughter was a little upset as she had gotten her hopes up beforehand. However, the waiter did bring her and my son some crayons and a colouring pack to entertain them.

Overall, we had an enjoyable evening and would definitely return. The food was lovely and freshly cooked and the staff amazing. This would make a perfect venue for Father’s Day.
