The world tour arrived at Opera House Manchester this week and we were there!

The spectacular award winning Queen tribute kicked off with One Vision and from then on it was a non-stop party of classic anthems.

I wasn't sure what to expect, I did think it might be a bit stars in their eyes – it was far from that! It is a celebration of some of the best rock songs ever (in my opinion) performed by accomplished musicians, singers and dancers who work the stage and make it a fantastic evening’s entertainment. Nobody is ever going to live up to Freddie Mercury’s vocals or Brian May’s electric guitar playing but the cast perform a back catalogue of 28 hits including We Will Rock You, Radio Ga Ga, Somebody To Love, Killer Queen, We Are The Champions and of course Bohemian Rhapsody amongst many more with passion and respect. Barcelona was the stand out one for me.

Twenty four year old Nathan James (of Andrew Lloyd Webber Superstar fame) takes on some of the biggest hits and he really does do them justice. Amy Diamond, Kelly Ann Gower, Rebecca Kelly, Ben Smith and Giovanni Spano – whose rendition of I Want to Break Free dressed in red leather hot pants was hilarious make up the rest of the talented singers line up.

The 5 piece rock band were excellent, but at times they were a little too loud and drowned out the singers on a few occasions. The dancers are raunchy and all the costumes out of this world.

This is a flamboyant, over the top fantastically entertaining production.

A good night out, especially if you are a big Queen fan.

Rating: 4/5
