Milton Combi Sterliser Review
Milton Combi Sterliser

The Milton Combi Steriliser comes in purple, blue or white, and can be used in the microwave (this takes 2-6 minutes) or with water and sterilising tablets (15 minutes). Although I intend to use this in the microwave for the most part, cold water sterilising is an important option for me as I would like to be able to use the steriliser in the event of a power cut or when I am visiting people/out and about. Plus not everything can be steam sterilised – teethers, toys or breast pump parts for example.
The instructions for use were concise and easy to follow for either method. The product information says the steriliser fits 5 bottles at a time – this is true if using the small bottles but I could only fit 4 large bottles in. The steriliser, measuring 26 x 26 x 16cm, fits easily into our small microwave, whereas another brand I bought was too wide. If using the microwave option, the lid is sterilised too, so if you turn it upside down it becomes a safe surface to make up bottles on. This product also appealed to me because it has a special slow pressure release valve in the lid, meaning that the temperature remains very high whilst in the microwave, making this one of the most effective sterilisers. Bottles remain sterile for up to 24 hours, either in the sterilising fluid or after microwave use if the lid isn’t removed. I like that the steriliser is watertight once the lid is on, meaning no risk of spilling the sterilising fluid (as this has happened to me before and it bleaches marks into fabric!). The lid also incorporates a handle, which is useful.
The steriliser came with a free pack of 28 sterilising tablets, so you can get started straight away without ordering any extras. A handy pair of tongs is included as well.
The lid is a bit tricky to fit, but that is only a small drawback. Also, I should imagine that using 5 litres of water every time could be quite costly if you are on a water meter, but then there is the microwave option. This steriliser is a bit more expensive than other brands, but as it can be used for both methods of sterilisation, I think it is worth the extra money.
I think this is an excellent all-round product; it represents value for money, is good quality, versatile and easy to use. I would definitely buy this product again and will be recommending it to friends.
