Big Love Season Four is an American TV drama about a Mormon family living in Utah that practice polygamy. This box set contains all 9 episodes on 3 DVD’s.

Having never seen the previous 3 seasons I was a bit unsure of watching this DVD as I was worried about following the plot. I shouldn’t have worried as it has a handy look back feature on the DVD so whether you are new to Big Love or need a reminder of what happened previously it get you up to speed.

Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton) is a Mormon businessman that has 3 wives, Barbara (Jeanne Tripplehorn), Nicolette (Chloe Sevigny) & Margene (Ginnifer Goodwen) and all their children. In this season Bill tries to get a casin o up and running while running for office in the State Senate even at the expense of exposing himself and his family as polygamists. With such a big family there is always going to trouble especially with the discovery of a dead body in the freezer and the smuggling and selling of exotic birds.

Overall a very good quality, well-acted drama. It has many subplots to keep you entertained and engrossed but at times I did find it hard to follow with so much going on. Bill Paxton is excellent and is supported by a great strong cast and even has Oscar winner Sissy Spacek appearing as a Washington lobbyist. Dealing with religious cults, homosexuality and the pursuit of money it is an enjoyable watch.
