With more hot and sunny weather finally on the horizon, I was very happy to be asked to try this range of sparkling water enriched with vitamins and other healthy ingredients.

Benefit water was launched in Spring 2020, following the UK-based company’s successes with Benefit Juice and Benefit Chocolate. The new additions to the family are three naturally flavoured, unsweetened sparkling spring waters, also known as seltzers.

Each flavour offers a different blend of ingredients which enrich the drink, but with zero sugar or sweeteners and very low calorie counts. All varieties are suitable for vegans. They come in smart-looking 250ml cans which would be perfect for adding to a picnic basket or popping in your bag for a day out. Packs of 12 or 4 cans are available, with a mixed 12-pack if you want to try all three flavours.

Firstly I tried the apple variety. Delicately flavoured and coloured, with a pleasant sparkle, this was very refreshing. This flavour is enriched with a natural fibre source, inulin, which is derived from chicory root. A can provides 5g of fibre, which is 15% of the recommended daily intake for an adult, with a calorie count of only 12kcal.

Next is lemon & elderflower in the yellow tin. I must admit that elderflower isn’t a flavour I would normally choose, but this drink balanced it well with the lemon and the colour of the water was very attractive in the glass. The offered benefit of this flavour is a blend of 12 key vitamins, with 50% of the recommended daily intake of Vitamins A, D, B12, B6, B1, B2, E & C, as well as Niacin, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, Folic Acid and Maltodextrin. The can has only 4kcals.

My favourite is definitely the mango & coconut flavour in the pink tin. This has such a summery smell and flavour, and conjures up tropical holidays for me! Also including a range of vitamins (Vitamins C, B3, B5, B6, B12, D-Biotin, and Folic Acid), this additionally includes magnesium and iodine, providing 15% of your daily recommended intake of all of these nutrients. Again, this can has only 4kcals for the 250ml drink.

All three would make a great alternative to sugary soft drinks if you’re trying to cut down but still crave something cold and sparkly. The added benefit of vitamins or fibre makes these a really easy way to give your nutrition a little boost if you’re feeling a bit run down or just want to ensure you’re getting all the right stuff for a healthy body and mind.

A pack of 12 can be bought for £14.99, or a pack of 4 for £5, which I think seems like good value compared to other similar products.

Altogether, I really enjoyed trying these drinks and would definitely purchase them in the future, particularly the mango & coconut which was delicious.
