Athletia Tuning Aroma Hair Milk Refresh Restart Review

As a busy working mum, I’m always on the lookout for new products to give myself a pamper at home when it feels like I haven’t got the time to go to a salon.  So, I was delighted to be offered the opportunity to try and review the Athletia Tuning Aroma Hair Milk Refresh & Restart, 100ml.

The product arrived really quickly and was well packaged in an outer cardboard box, filled with recyclable shredded paper to stop it moving around in transit. Inside I found a white box with the Athletia branding – I liked how the box had been branded, around the corners of the box and the packaging was recycled.  There was a lot of writing on the box, the majority of which was in Japanese, I believe.

Inside the box I found a lidded pump bottle dispenser, which had a matte texture and felt like a really good quality product.  The Athletia Tuning Aroma Hair Milk is a leave-in hair treatment, which can either be used on dry or towel-dry hair.

I didn’t waste any time in trying the product out; I washed my hair as normal and used it on towel-dry hair.  The instructions on the box simply stated to ‘take an appropriate amount on your palm’, which I felt was very subjective.  I know from experience of other hair products, not to use excessive amounts, as it can have the reverse effect on your hair and make it look awful, so I erred on the side of caution and used 2 pumps of the product (I have long hair).  I followed the other instructions given to blend into the tips of my hair.  I then dried my hair as normal.

Hair Milk is an interesting description, as the product is not a runny liquid, as I had expected, more a hair cream or gel. However, the texture was pleasant and I can honestly say, my hair felt really soft and smooth after styling, in fact, I kept having to touch it all day and I asked several other people to have a feel too!

The Aroma Tuning Hair Milk is paraben free, silicon free and Mineral Oil free, which is great. In fact, it contains 10 types of natural plant-derived ingredients including lavender and aloe.

This particular product is the 01 Refresh & Restart which has a fragrance of peppermint, bergamot, lavender, eucalyptus and cedarwood.  I found the fragrance nice and fresh when I applied it, although the scent wasn’t really noticeable on my hair after styling.

Athletia also sell an alternative Aroma Tuning Hair Milk which is 02 Rock It which appears to be more lemon-scented.

The Aroma Tuning Hair Milk has an RRP of £35, which is a lot higher price than I would normally pay for a hair product. However, it did make my hair feel lush and you can’t put a price on that! I would recommend the product for Beauty Lovers and for Fitness Lovers, particularly for those who’ve done a workout and want a quick refresh afterwards.  I will definitely be telling my friends and family all about it.

Athletia is not a brand I am familiar with, so I was keen to find out a little more.  They are a Japanese Skincare and Lifestyle brand who pride themselves on being environmentally conscious, with a focus on natural ingredients.
