Last night we went to see the All Stars of Comedy at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester. The theatre was very easy to get to using satnav and there is parking at the Lowry Outlet directly opposite to the theatre. Once in the car park it is sign posted to the theatre entrance as well as to pay for parking. Pre-pay prior to going to the theatre and this will save you queueing at the end of the show. Pre-payment cost £6.00.
The atmosphere at the theatre and surrounding area is calm yet exciting set opposite media city, it’s a modern and upmarket area.
Staff were very friendly and gave us direction as to where we were going. The bar area was relaxed and friendly overlooking media city so we sat and had a drink whilst waiting to go in. 500ml bottle of lager and a 500 ml bottle of soft drink was £6.50. As these were in plastic bottles we were allowed to take them into the theatre.
Seating was comfortable with a reasonable view of the stage, we were able to stand up without blocking anyone else’s view. Other people did seem to have trouble finding their seats as the seating plan was a little confusing.
The show started about 15 minutes late, but as soon as the host Thanyia Moore came on the stage she was electrifying and completely engaged the audience. Thanyia introduced four outstanding comedians to the stage all with differing takes on comedy from Micky with an Asian stance to the white Jamaican Prince Harry with his own take of Jamaica. Aurie Styla had us crying with laughter and Will-e‘s amazing slow motion entrance and relaxed comedy style.
The show was a fantastic performance from start to finish with us laughing out loud the entire 3 and half hours. I took my 17 year old son with me and it’s the first time he has been to a comedy show. He loved it according to his social media page this morning. All Stars of Comedy is definitely worth your while going to see, we will definitely be going back for more the next time they are about.
Great value for money and a guaranteed laugh a minute. Thoroughly recommended.
