Aldi Specialbuys Camping Equipment Review

Reviewed by Louise Asekokhai

I was asked to test out some of the Aldi Speciabuys camping equipment. I tested the equipment by camping with my son on a rare warmish night in a 4 man tent.

Envelope Sleeping Bag | Cost: £14.99 | Weight: 1.90
I was impressed with the sleeping bag it was an envelope shape which I prefer, it was soft and comfortable  this was perfect for summer camping but would also be good for a colder night as it has a thermal strip on the zipper, lined heat collar and hood for heat retention. It has a bionic finish for water repellence. The sleeping bag was a good size perfect for an average sized adult.  It rolled back again nicely after use and fitted back into its bag. I would say it was excellent value for money.  5/5

All Purpose Rucksack | Cost: £8.99 | Size: 31 x 41 x 15 cm
A medium sized rucksack perfect for day use whilst out on excursions.

There is 2 drinks holders on either side, 2 pockets on the front, one for iPod or mobile phone with an earphone outlet which is a brilliant idea.

It’s comfortable to carry as it has adjustable padded shoulder straps and a padded back, you can also adjust the hip belt.

There are reflective strips on the straps which is very useful for night hikes and it’s a nice bright orange colour so very visible.

We were able to fit plenty of food and drink into the bag as well as a phone, wallet and a blanket.

It appears to be a nicely made, sturdy rucksack that is perfect for family camping.

I thought it was very good for the cost and will also give it 5/5.

Tent lights | Cost: £9.99 | Cable length: 3 metres
I love these tent lights. They run for 7 hours on 4 AA batteries and are very bright. There are three small lights on a cable that you peg up around the tent enough for a 2 to 4 man tent. Batteries and pegs were included.

They really worked well and lit up the tent at night so we could see everything much more clearly. Using these little lights made it feel more like a glamping experience than camping. I think in future I would use more than 3 lights for an even brighter tent.

I thought they were such an excellent idea and will always be using them on all my camping trips.

I give them 5/5.

12 LED Lantern | Cost: £2.99
Total bargain! Takes 3 AA batteries, included.

This is a useful lamp that is perfect for taking with you when you need to walk in the dark to the loo or for lighting up a room in a tent.

This lamp has adjustable light that you can adjust easily with a little dimmer switch on the front.

It can get very bright but can be low and would be perfect as a night light for a child.

It is light, easy to use and came in very handy for trying to find thinks in the tent as it got darker. Another 5/5.

Overall I am really impressed with the quality, usefulness and the very reasonable price of this range of camping equipment.

Rating: 5/5
