Aldi 16 Piece Combination Spanner Set Review

Reviewed by Norman Totton

Having my own transit van and running a business as a ‘Man and Van’, I was very pleased to receive the opportunity to review the 16 Piece Combination Spanner Set from Aldi. I am frequently called upon to manhandle heavy household objects such as washing machines and fridge-freezers with and am always in need of some tools.

I found these to be a very useful addition to my toolbox. The spanners are supplied with and stored on, a very neat and compact wall holder arranged with the biggest spanner at the top and the smallest at the bottom.

The spanners sizes are from 6mm to 20mm inclusive together with a size 22mm and each spanner has an open end and a ring end. They are made from Chrome-vanadium-steel, are matt chrome plated and have polished heads.

I used these spanners on a number of small jobs and found them to be of very good quality. The range of sizes supplied means the set would be fit for virtually any job. Whilst I have not used these for anything particularly heavy-duty, there has been no wearing away of the spanners, and they have retained an accuracy in their shape, something that often doesn’t happen with inexpensive tools.

I look forward to continuing to put these through their paces, but am delighted with them to date.
