I was asked to review the Joan Collins 2-piece Day to Night Lip Glamour Collection from QVC. This set includes a Divine Lips lipstick and a Glorious Gloss lip gloss. The lipstick is available in two colours and I was sent the ‘Lady Joan’, which is a rich plum colour, and the gloss is a pearl colour. The items come packaged in their own individual boxes, which were good quality and sturdy, and definitely gave the impression that the products would be of a high standard. The items themselves are very elegant looking and both look and feel very high-end.
I don’t usually spend too much on make-up and wear very little day-to-day but luckily enough I had a night out with the girls planned which gave me the perfect opportunity to try them out. The lipstick is a bold and bright colour – perfect if you’re looking to make a statement! It glides on well and feels very creamy. It is much brighter than anything I would normally wear so did take a while to get used to it but I certainly felt very glam! It gave really good coverage and made my lips appear fuller. It was really quite long lasting as well, I think I only had to re-apply once or twice throughout the night. I did team it with the gloss, which gives the look an extra bit of sparkle and shimmer. The gloss could most definitely be used alone however, great for a more subtle look or general day to day wear.
The gloss is a good size and as you only need a sweep to create the look, it will certainly last a long time. Similarly with the lipstick – as it is good quality and you don’t need to re-apply very often.
The products are available as a set with an RRP of £28. This is much more than I would normally pay for a lipstick and lip gloss although, as previously mentioned, I don’t really wear much makeup and certainly don’t splash out on it. However if you do usually pay that little extra for your makeup or are looking for a special treat for yourself or a gift then this is perfect for you. The saying goes that you get what you pay for and this is certainly the case with these products.
