We were invited to the New Victoria Theatre in Woking to see Alan Davies: Little Victories than is currently touring the UK. If you don’t know who Alan Davies is he a stand-up comedian, TV’s Jonathan Creek and is a team captain on QI.

This was my first time at a stand-up comedy show and I wasn’t disappointed. Alan Davies’ Little Victories was something we can all relate to! The sadness of his childhood after his mother died when he was only six years old and them being raised by his father who sounded tough could have broken my heart but the way Alan told his story’s and his little victories made it funny he held the audience for over two hours and I felt like he was a mate as he was so friendly and it was all quite personal we could have been sat in a pub listening to his tales from childhood and his mates willies and erections!

They stories about his wife and kids was something that had every parent laughing out loud about kids swearing and falling over and the things he dared to share. The audience ranged from 17 to 86 and there was plenty of giggles all around. A lot of his material is just life but very off the cuff with a few rude bits and swearing but always funny quick witted and involved the audience.

I really had a great night out and will recommend the show to family and friends. A very funny show from a very funny man.
