Cake Hair Care Review

My teenage daughter has a large collection of make-up as well as hair & beauty products which far exceeds my own collection. The side of our bath can look like we have a beauty shop situation going on. I 100% support her desire to look after her appearance and make sure she always has enough products available to help her do so. Finding the right products can take a bit of trial and error. Some products seem to work well on her hair and skin and some not so well at all. When she spotted that two Cake Beauty products had arrived in the post she was thrilled. Apparently, she had been looking out for some defining curl cream.
The first product we received was Cake Naturally Luxe Beauty – The Soft Serve (RRP: £8.99). This cream rinse conditioner comes in a simple white container which has a pink lid. What first struck me was how fantastic the logo looked. The font used looks like icing on a cake. It even has a 3D feel to it. The design looked stunning. Simple can work better than crowded when it comes to product design. The container size is 295ml, which is the perfect size to keep in the bathroom and should last a good while. The bottle is easy to open and close, there is nothing worse than ending up with conditioner over your hands because you have to use two hands to open and close the container. When squeezed out of the container the conditioner looks white in colour and has a smooth consistency. It’s not too thick and is easy to put onto your hair. A little seems to go a long way, which is always a good thing, especially with luxury beauty products such as this one. I can see why it’s described as ‘rich moisture surging’ on the bottle. It has made mine and my daughter’s hair look well hydrated and healthy. We have found that our hair has that freshly washed look for longer and we can hold out longer in between washes. On the back of the container is a useful tip to not use too much when rinsing your hair after use. I totally agree with that and I myself have had a tendency in the past to apply too much conditioner to my hair. My hair feels full of life, shiny and soft and this is a massive confidence booster. I think that the product is well worth it’s price and I would recommend it to others.
The second product we were sent was Cake Naturally Luxe Beauty – The Curl Friend (RRP: £8.99). My daughter has beautiful naturally curly hair but it can be so hard to manage and become frizzy with uneven curls. She was very excited about both products, but especially this one. This container was a lovely shade of pink and had a creamy beige logo. The logo looked like it was lifted off of the container in 3D. This product too had a simple design but lots of useful and clear information. The container size was 177ml, again a decent size so that the product does not need to be replaced too often. Whilst I have hair that is far from straight, I do not have curly hair these days. I therefore left it to my teenage daughter to try out this product. This container was a tube style design and product is applied from the bottom of the tube. My daughter used a small amount of the defining curl cream on her damp curly hair. She then ran her fingertips through her hair to ensure that the product was evenly applied. It definitely helped fight the frizz and made her curls look more defined and even. I think that this product will be something we use in our household for years to come. I also like the fact that you don’t have to blow dry your hair after using it and can opt to leave it to air dry. The packaging tells me that the product contains Avocado Oil, Soybean Oil & Shea Butter. I think that this item too is well worth its price and would recommend it to others.
In conclusion, these products have made our week. My daughter is loving having more manageable hair and I am delighted to have hair which looks in much better condition and not in need of being hydrated. We cannot wait to try out more Cake products, especially considering that they are both cruelty free and vegan.
These products would be perfect as a Christmas Gift Idea for that hard to buy for teenager in your life or as a special treat for yourself just because.
