Jimmy Lion Back To The Future Sock Pack Review

We are finally on the Countdown to Christmas (whoo hoo!) and if you’re anything like me, I’m racking my brains for Christmas gift ideas for all the men (husband, Dad and brother) in my life… especially some little fillers to put in my husband’s stocking, which is currently looking very empty as it hangs from the mantelpiece!

I always try to ensure that any pressies I buy for others are useful and practical gifts, rather than pointless ones which get shoved into a drawer, never to see the light of day again! So based on that principle, what’s a better Christmas present to give than…. wait for it….. SOCKS?!!!!

Most people in my life have received socks for Christmas, at least once in their lifetime (to be fair… probably nearly every year!). If you’ve ever been a recipient of such a gift in the past, you may moan and say… ‘not boring socks again’ but… who says socks need to be boring?!!!! With a little bit of love (and some serious searching), you can make socks a fun, crazy and very apt present for all the important people in your life! I firmly believe it’s one of the most practical gifts you could give – I don’t know of anyone that doesn’t wear socks!!!

I’m certainly no Einstein, but when the opportunity presented itself, I didn’t waste anytime and jumped at the chance to review the Jimmy Lion BACK TO THE FUTURE sock pack. When I saw these…. I just knew my husband would LOVE them!!!! These would make a perfect stocking filler for him.

Back To The Future is one of the most iconic films from the 80’s films and any film fanatic, 80’s born babies or ‘time-travelling’ sci-fi fans would surely love to wear a Marty McFly and Doc inspired socks!

Jimmy Lion is not a brand that I’ve ever heard of before so was not familiar with their products, but when I checked out the website (www.jimmylion.com) I was pleasantly surprised to find a huge sock range, with diverse genres and styles/types available for purchase. They cater for both adults and children’s feet (socks for all foot sizes including babies) and you can purchase single packs of socks, gift sets or even customise and create your very own pack of 4, 6 or 10 pairs of socks. I think that being able to customise your own pack is a really novel idea especially for stocking fillers where you can pick and choose the socks you want to buy to make up a gift set. Therefore, you can vary the design, sock lengths and types etc to basically give someone pairs of socks which are suitable for all occasions. As a little bonus, Jimmy Lion even offer discounts when buying multiple pairs (ie 20% discount of a 10 pair custom pack).

This Back To The Future sock pack gift set contains 4 pairs of socks (2 x pairs of white socks, 1 x navy and 1 x black) inspired by the film, including some with the iconic logo and a pair depicting the infamous Delorean car. They come presented in a lovely gift box (made of cardboard) which makes a perfect present or stocking filler. Each pair of the socks are individually labelled/ packaged inside the gift box so you could choose to split the gift set and give more than than one person a ‘sock surprise’ this Christmas.

The adult gift set is available for purchase in 2 sizes;
Adult medium: UK Men’s 4 – 7
Adult large: UK Men’s 7.5 – 11.5

The socks themselves are a mid-calf, ‘athletic’ style sock made from 70% combined cotton, 27% polyamide and 3% elastane. These would be perfect for wearing whilst playing sport (being an ‘athletic’ sock type) and even for those of us that would rather watch sport from the comfort of an arm chair, or for those whom who would rather read a Sports Almanac of skate boarding (or even hover boarding!), then these socks will at least keep your feet nice and warm whilst you look very ‘jazzy.’ They feel nice and thick and of high quality.

The washing instructions can be found on the packaging (or on the website) for each pair as well as on the back of the gift box. Jimmy Lion advises that in order to keep the colours vibrant and to maintain the size and the shape of the socks, then they should get washed inside-out at 30°C (cold wash), and you should not bleach, iron or tumble dry them.

With the price of this gift set coming in at £36.95, I do feel that this is an expensive stocking filler (the equivalent of each pair of socks costing over £9) especially when the majority of high street shops sell multiple sock sets for under £20 (including named sports brands), but when comparing to other high-end stores / online websites, then the price seems to be in keeping.

Overall, I think the Jimmy Lion Back To The Future sock pack gift set is a really quirky, fun but yet practical example of a quintessential Christmas stocking filler (or gift) and I can’t wait to see my husband’s face as he opens his (no longer ‘boring’) socks!
