It was a real pleasure to review products from the premium, plant-based Essentiel Vie range for mums and babies. I am still settling down with breast feeding and at times it is a real struggle. Both myself and my husband have eczema and although we don’t know if a coincidence, my husband’s rather severe eczema started straight after his Mum stopped breastfeeding at 7 weeks. With this in mind, breastfeeding has been rather an emotional journey, wanting the best for my baby, with the knowledge that added pressure will make it a harder road.

As the cream is completely natural, I did not have to remove it before feeding. This meant it helped in two important ways. I could apply the cream liberally before a feed, which I found helped to protect my nipples from further damage which was reassuring and gave me confidence at a time when I was feeling fairly vulnerable. After feeding, I could reapply the cream and found it to be enormously soothing.

This simple, holistic self care took no time but became an essential routine, with maximum feel good factor. I loved the way the nipple cream, with great attention to detail had no scent so there was no risk of it interfering with natural bonding aromas between mum and baby. It was reassuring that the nipple cream is approved and recommended by Dr Nadia Yousri, Fellow of Royal College of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians.

For us as a family, this product has been absolutely amazing. It is no surprise the cream has won so many awards. It has helped and supported me through an emotional and special time in so many ways. It is extremely good value for money as a little goes a long way – the 100 ml tub will last for ages. I would highly recommend.
