Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters in the second film in the Percy Jackson series – the first film being Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.

Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman) is a teenage demigod, son of a human mother and the Greek god of the sea Poseidon, who lives in the protected world of Camp Half-Blood along with his friends who are also demigods.

When their world is attached and their magical tree dies they need to find the fabled Golden Fleece which has the power to revive the tree and once again throw a protective barrier around their world.

Luke, the Lightning Thief, is also after the Golden Fleece to revive his ancestor Chronos, who eats his young, and who will destroy the world.

The Golden Fleece can be found in the treacherous Sea of Monsters, or as we humans know it – the Bermuda Triangle. Along the way they encounter terrifying creatures, zombies and a cab ride from hell!

Overall, Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters is a good action movie. It probably helps if you have seen the first film for some of the backstory (I haven’t), but this didn’t stop my enjoyment of the film or leave me confused as to what was happening. A good story with some good characters that the family will enjoy.
