Don’t Let These Things Get In The Way Of Your Summer Holiday

Summer is coming! The kids will soon be off school for weeks, and you and the family can finally get away for some quality time together. What are you looking forward to most? There are activities, holidays, days out, events, shows, and more. Unfortunately, the path to summer holiday bliss isn’t always smooth. You still have time, so make sure none of these pesky problems gets in the way of you enjoying it all:
Money
Last minute expenses always seem to crop up. The last thing you want is to have to delve into your holiday savings fund to cover a bill. Make sure your boiler has been serviced, and your insurance payments are up to date. Quit all those bad habits that cost you a lot and do your health no good. Be frugal (especially during the sales period). And save, save, save!
Car
If you need your car to get you to your holiday destination, then now is the time to get it serviced. Make sure your breakdown cover is in place. If you have any driving violations in dispute, make sure you have specialist solicitors for motoring offences on your side so you can clear your licence in time for your holiday. If the car is good and you’re fit and healthy to drive it, then you’re ready to go. Of course, choosing public transport could help you sit back and enjoy the holiday even more…
Vaccinations and Visas
If you’re heading abroad this summer make sure you know which jabs you’re supposed to get and book them in! Some holiday travel insurance provides now request that you forward a copy of your appointment details, so they know you’re covered. Check which jabs are relevant to your destination and stopovers. You can also double check your visa requirements and safety information from the government website.
Passport
Now it’s easier than ever to hop on a train at your home station and arrive anywhere in Europe a few hours later. It’s really important you remember your passport! Check it’s in your handbag, and double check it will still be valid beyond your return date. Kids need their own passports these days, so make sure you have one for each of them. Photo requirements are stricter than ever for passport applications, so be ready with your hairbrush.

Airport Timings
If you’re travelling with the kids, you might prefer to fly overnight, so they’ll sleep. Be very wary of the timings on your flight tickets though. Many people have turned up at the wrong time or even on the wrong date when flights take off in the wee hours. Your check-in time may be on the date before your flight when this happens, so make sure you know where you need to be and when.
Holidays are one of the best times to spend quality time with the family. They become the most treasured memories for you and for the kids. Don’t let yours turn into a nightmare. Be prepared, take precautions, and enjoy your time away.
