In season one of this joyful sitcom set in the Parks and Recreation department of local government in the small town of Pawnee, Indiana we saw Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) trying to get a dangerous pit filled in. Well season two continues with the pit still being a pit and not filled in or turned into a park, well that’s local government for you!
She has managed, however, to turn the pit into an unofficial garden where locals can plant their own things until it is discovered that someone in growing cannabis plants!
She still works tirelessly and manages to marry 2 gay penguins, host a telethon, ridding the golf course of possums and removing unhealthy energy bars from park vending machines all with the help of her department staff and her friend Ann (Rashida Jones).
She also manages to find to go on a hunting trip with the office staff which ends in disaster when her boss, Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), gets shot in the head.
And in series two we also see the disinterested intern, April (Aubrey Plaza), become Ron’s assistant.
Overall, I loved series one but series two is much better and much funnier. This is a hilarious comedy show that you cannot afford to miss. The cast are superb and make it extremely enjoyable.
Great fun and a joy to watch! Would recommend.
