Allan Stewart’s Big Big Variety Show at the King’s Theatre Edinburgh Review

Big Big Variety Show

The King’s Theatre is a very small and beautifully traditional theatre which has been extremely well maintained with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. I had my interval drink in one of the rooms which reminded me of what I could only describe as an old library. Free parking is available after 5.30pm all around the theatre however being so close to the heart of Edinburgh’s City Centre finding parking can be difficult but no problem if you’re willing to walk five minutes.
Allan Stewart famously known for creating the Christmas Panto each year has put together a night of fun laughter and extraordinary talent. He is joined on stage by his Big Band, panto pals Andy Gray and Grant Stott, and the tremendously talented Kev Orkian, Jo Caulfield and music sensation, Saxation.
Allan Stewart, Andy Gray and Grant Stott made a wonderful trio, with their light hearted jokes and overall silliness. They looked like they were having such fun up on stage – Allan of course also has a lovely voice. Comedian Jo Caulfield was extremely funny and very entertaining, and the girl saxophone group Saxation, looked fabulous while given an excellent and such unusual performance that made you want to get up and dance. However it was Kev Orkian that stole the show for me. As well as being a fabulously talented pianist with a magnificent voice he was also absolutely hilarious, and not too shabby a dancer either! All performers were really engaging and gave the audience such a wonderful night.
I thoroughly enjoyed my evening and would give it a very impressive 4 out of 5. I laughed throughout and was blown away with the talent of Kev Orkian. I would definitely recommend this show to friends and family of all ages.
