Happy Stitch by Jodie Rackley Review

Reviewed by Michelle Wright
Feeling crafty? This book has 30 step by step guides to the most gorgeous craft and felt projects – in no time at all your home will be filled with hand crafted bookmarks, necklaces, cushions, organisers – all made by you from literally scraps of felt, fabric and cottons.
The first few chapters cover basic techniques and stitches, a source of material and supplies you may need and a chapter on how to personalise your items. At the back, you will find a section on templates for the patterns and the embroidery – all just need enlarging to suit your requirements.
Some of the crafts could be enjoyed by older children too once they have mastered some of the basic techniques – but the book fuels your imagination and will lead you to make and embellish items you may not have considered.
The photography is bright, colourful and inspirational; and with the Kirsty Allsop handmade/’upcycling’ inspired craze that is sweeping the nation, this book is a must for your craft box.
