Just a year from launch Cornwall's own online home delivery service is spreading the word about fabulous Cornish products to the nation at large. The "buy fresh, buy local" ethos has proved a huge hit with households and businesses in the far south west keen to support local producers while giving the major supermarkets a run for their money.

"People who have Cornish connections or have been using us for their online food orders when they arrive down here on holiday have been asking us when they'll be able to get the best of Cornish wherever they live," says Sean Williams, MD of cornishfoodmarket.co.uk and its parent company, food wholesalers Westcountry Fruit Sales.

For starters cornishfoodmarket.co.uk is delivering to customers in England and Wales, Tuesday to Saturday, with a 36 hour order time. There is a courier charge, based on weight (unlike current deliveries through their regular routes in most of Cornwall and South Devon which are free) but customers everywhere will be getting their Cornish favourites in one convenient batch – with a starter fee of £9.75 seeing up to 15kg (33lbs) of goodies delivered to doorsteps across the nation.
