I was lucky enough to be chosen for this to review and I can honestly say how pleased I was to receive it. My daughter (who is 4 years old) loves crafts and especially gluing!
The kit contains a good variety of items to decopatch. There were two of everything (apart from a big box) which was great as my daughter was able to invite her friend round and they could each have a set of the variety of items – which saved arguments of who was going to decorate what! This would be great for siblings within a family too.
The kit also comes with a lovely variety of papers as well as two brushes and a glue pot. The products were a good variety and size to decorate too.
Initially my daughter and I sat down to decorate the box. I enjoyed spending the time together and equally it was lovely to see how patient my daughter was, choosing and tearing the paper and then sticking it on so carefully. We worked together and it was a lovely activity to do together. She was thrilled with the finished product and couldn’t wait to put her bits of jewellery and bobbles in it. The box had sections so it made it perfect for this.
She couldn’t wait for her friend to come over too and decorate the same things together. The two girls (4years old and 5 years old) sat beautifully and decorated the products. They sat for about an hour ripping tissue, placing it carefully and sticking it down. It was great to see them together and independently making choices of paper and sharing. I only had to intervene a couple of times to help share/ half the big pieces of paper so they knew how much they had each and help them a little bit with sticking the trickier products. They talked about who they wanted to give the products to and were both extremely pleased with their achievements.
Overall I would say this is an excellent product and I would recommend it. It could be for a creative adult or for children too. There’s plenty in the kit for at least two children. The finished products make lovely gifts and lovely keepsakes too. The variety of paper included makes each product unique and individual to the creator.
