The Absolute Aromas Organic Nail & Cuticle Oil is packaged in a small brown glass bottle, not dissimilar to an essential oil bottle. The labelling gives very little away. I know the product is Soil Association Organic Standard and it gives basic directions for use, but there are no ingredients listed*. I do like to know what ingredients are found in a product so this would have been nice to see on the labelling*. However, it does give a website address on the label so I was able to go to the website to find out further information about the Absolute Aromas Organic Nail & Cuticle Oil. The ingredients that make up the Absolute Aromas Organic Nail & Cuticle Oil are:
Organic Sweet Almond Oil – softens and protects cuticles
Organic Tea Tree Oil – anti-fungal properties
Organic Oregano Oil and Organic Neem Oil – encourage growth of healthy nails
Organic Lemon Oil
You unscrew the lid to reveal a nail polish brush which you use to apply the oil which is clear in colour to the finger nails and toe nails. Once applied, you need to massage the oil into the nail and cuticle and wipe away any excess. I found the oil to be the same consistency as an essential oil (not surprising considering these are the ingredients) which absorbed very easily into the nail bed and cuticle. I was surprised to find that I wasn’t left with an oily, greasy feeling around my nails – rather, it was very nourishing and softening. The Absolute Aromas Organic Nail & Cuticle Oil has a very powerful tea tree smell (I can’t distinguish the smell of any of the other essential oils). I don’t mind the strong smell as I quite like tea tree but for anyone who doesn’t like the smell, I think they may struggle with this. Having said that, the smell does fade after about an hour. For optimal results, they recommend applying the Absolute Aromas Organic Nail & Cuticle Oil both in the morning and night. I find the ideal times for me to apply it are right after my shower in the morning and just before bed in the evening.
The Absolute Aromas Organic Nail & Cuticle Oil is designed to encourage the growth of strong nails and soften and smooth rough cuticles. In the short time I have been using the Absolute Aromas Organic Nail & Cuticle Oil (one week), I have found it to work wonders on my cuticles. They have gone from red and ragged to soft, smooth and generally much healthier looking. I cannot comment on whether my nails are stronger as I feel you would only see this from using it for a much longer period.
A 10ml bottle costs £5.26 and because this is an oil, a little goes a long way so I feel that this is very good value for money. I would definitely recommend this product to people who are looking to improve the appearance and healthiness of their nails and cuticles. This would also make a great stocking filler for any beauty buff!
I would rate the Absolute Aromas Organic Nail & Cuticle Oil 4 out of 5 purely because of the lack of information on the labelling*.
