This go-to guide can be used both when considering, and keeping chickens. Early on it highlights the benefits and truly does explain how ‘there is a chicken out there for everyone’.
It’s presented in an easy relaxed style that isn’t intimidating for a chicken lay person, and is as easy to follow as a chat with a knowledgeable friend. It provides clear information about the different breeds, sizes and what would be best for different gardens. Including very useful tips about how many chickens to get and why, as well as what to expect when taking new chickens home, and how to introduce them to all members of your family, be them human or pet.
This is an ideal stand by reference DVD to and see and hear what you should be looking out for, and how to keep them grounded, fit, and healthy at every stage of keeping chickens. The simple style of the DVD is easy to navigate and is separated into chapters for easy reference.
By viewing I’ve realised there is a lot more to keeping chickens than I first imagined, they are a pet that requires daily attention but the lure of fresh eggs is enticing.
So in search of the good life I’m off to convince my reluctant other half that perhaps one day we could become a hen friendly house.
