I am a huge fan of Strictly Come Dancing so when the opportunity to see Dance ‘Til Dawn at Milton Keynes theatre starring Flavia Cacace and Vincent Simone (of Strictly Fame) came up, I jumped at the chance. And I was not the only one – the theatre was jam-packed!

This dramatised dance show is set in the golden age of Hollywood in the 1940s and is based on a plot with murder, intrigue, deception, romance and seduction. There is a live band, music, song and lashings of stunning choreography.

I have to be honest and admit that I didn’t follow the plot entirely – there were some issues at the start hearing the dialogue clearly as Detective Tommy explains the story – but to be honest it didn’t detract. This show is all about the dancing and the razzmatazz. And the dancing is breathtaking.

The stars of the show are Vincent and Flavia of course. It is hard to take your eyes off them when they are dancing together on stage but the backing dancers are hugely talented too. Abbie Osmone as Lana Clemenza has an amazing voice and special mention also has to go to Oliver Darley who plays The Voice. His singing is sensational. There is a great selection of classic songs most of them in keeping with the period, with a couple of modern ones too.

There are many, many dances packed into this show and many costume and scene changes. Some were done in front of us – which is slick and cleverly done. All of the cast members look so glamorous and in keeping with the era of the show. And there are plenty of sequins and sparkles!

Tommy Dubrowski (played by Teddy Kempner) delivers the comedy aspect within the show along with sidekick Lana Clemenza (played by Abbie Osmon) who looks amazing and delivers her lines with great comic timing.

The highlight has to be Vincent and Flavia’s Argentine Tango which is just incredible. These two are so talented and in tune with one another. To have the opportunity to see them live and dancing a few feet away is amazing and not to be missed.

Milton Keynes Theatre is a fantastic venue. It is modern, well designed, comfortable and clean. There is a choice of bars and kiosks with soft, hot and alcoholic drinks and the option to preorder interval drinks. Parking is easy and it is all very well signposted and easy to find within the central Milton Keynes.

If you are a fan of dance then this show is not to be missed.  It is entertaining, quick paced and very cleverly put together. Highly recommended.
