24 Hours To Improve Your Family Home

You don’t need to spend weeks, months, or even a single weekend improving your family home. There are a few tips you can use that will help you to improve it in a mere 24 hours! If this sounds good to you, then you’re going to want to read on.

Add More Pillows And Throws

Does your family home have enough pillows and throws? Pillows and throws are the best thing to add if you want texture and interest – which is something everybody should want! Make sure you layer up your sofa and chairs, as well as your bed. These pillows and throws really don’t have to match, either. It makes things look so much better!

Change Your Curtains

Changing your curtains doesn’t take very long at all, and if you make sure prestigious curtain fabrics are used you can add an element of luxury, too. You need to consider how you want your windows to function in the space. Do you just want them to look pretty, or do they need to block out light and give your privacy too? When you’ve considered this, you’ll be able to select the perfect curtains for your home.

Include Some Pattern

Why wouldn’t you want to include pattern in your home? You can do this with your pillows, throws, curtains, lampshades, and anything else you like. However, try to stick to the 60/30/10 rule in terms of proportion, and only choose three patterns to start with. An odd number is better than an even number. Ideally, your patterns will always be different scales, and have something unifying them, such as one colour that runs through everything. This isn’t necessary, but it can make mixing pattern much easier.

Paint or Paper A Wall

Choosing one wall to paint or paper will take you maybe half a day if you focus. This can completely change the look and feel of a room. It can add far more interest too, especially if you choose a textured paper like many home decor bloggers!

Rearrange Your Furniture

Simply rearranging your furniture could be a fast and easy way to improve the look of your family home. Maybe you could make it a little more practical by ensuring it suits the way you use it. Your room should look good, but it should also match the way you like to use it to be most effective.

Get The Little Things Done

If you’ve been putting off little things, such as making small repairs or touching up bits and pieces, then get them done. Dedicate one day to doing these things and you’ll feel so much better for it. It’s all too easy to think that these jobs are so small that they don’t matter, or telling yourself you’ll do them tomorrow every day. This is how small problems turn into big problems!

Use the next 24 hours wisely and plan the smart updates you’ll make to your home. It really doesn’t have to take very long for you to make your home look 10x better!
